Three Out of Three for Purbrook U11s

The season started with a good, solid all round batting and bowling display against Burridge. All the team batted sensibly to score 272 without giving away one wicket.

Wickets fron Ben Hodge, Craig Marsh and Joshua Thomas, combined with some neat bowling from the others restricted Burridge to 251 for 3.

Next up was Locks Heath and another superb batting display. Purbrook only lost 2 wickets in an innings which included a partnership of 14 between Ben Mitchell and Charlie Haywood. Purbrook reached 263.

Purbrook then took 11 wickets to restrict Locks Heath to 224. The pick was Khalid Alsfai who took 3 wickets in one over.

The next match, against Portsmouth, got off to a flying start when Jack Lavous took a caught and bowled off the first ball of the match. Wickets were hard to come by, but through tight bowling (only 17 extras) Portsmouth were restricted to 219.

A brilliant innings of 16 by Charlie Allsop (added to his 1 wicket) made him man of the match. Once again he whole team batted well, refusing to concede wickets once the target had been reached. Purbrook finished on 226.
